Redshirted as a freshman… Participated as a defensive back, earning Defensive Scout of the Week honors after South Carolina game.

Began varsity career as secondary starter in ninth grade… Multi-year captain captain… Starting tailback and punt/kickoff return specialist as junior and senior… In 2005, rushed for 989 yards and 18 TDs for Golden Eagles on just 97 carries… As cornerback, posted 70 tackles, three INTs and three fumble recoveries… Two-time All-Area pick and named All-Metro by Montgomery Advertiser… Standout outfielder in baseball and one of state’s top sprinters-jumpers in track & field, with personal bests of 10.8 (100) and 42’11” (triple jump) as junior… An honors student and vice president of senior class.

Marquez Vernett Hall… Son of Warren Woods and Phyllis Hall… Has a twin sister, Marqueesia, and older brother, Brandon… Born and raised in Alabama… Three NFL players – cornerback Frank Walker (N.Y. Giants), cornerback James Patrick (Tampa Bay) and receiver Chad Lucas (Green Bay) – attended Booker T. Washington… Plans to major in Human & Organizational Development.
