NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Each week This Week on West End takes a closer look at what’s in store for the Commodores in the coming days.

It will be a big week for the Vandy bowling team as it learns its NCAA matchup for the NCAA Tournament. The Vanderbilt women’s golf program will take pride in seeing two of its own play at Augusta National Club Club starting Wednesday.

Vanderbilt lacrosse – undefeated in league play – returns home for a pair of conference games while Vanderbilt baseball has a crucial series at LSU.

Here’s more on all the other happenings around West End this week:

Bowling

The Vanderbilt bowling team will learn its NCAA matchup during the NCAA Selection Show at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Vandy will be making its 15th NCAA Tournament appearance – and 15th straight – and be looking for its third national championship when the 16-team national tourney begins April 7 in North Kansas City, Missouri. The Commodores qualified for the NCAA Tournament by winning the Southland Bowling League’s automatic bid.

Women’s golf

Two of Vanderbilt’s finest golfers will represent the Black and Gold this week at Augusta National Golf Club.

Auston Kim, a junior, and Abbey Carlson, a 2020 graduate, will compete at the Augusta National Women’s Amatuer starting Wednesday in Augusta, Georgia. They will compete alongside an international field for 54 holes at one of the world’s most-famous venues.

Baseball

Tim Corbin’s Commodores continued their winning ways last week with four victories and sophomore Jack Leiter once again stole the headlines with seven no-hit innings in a win at Missouri. Vanderbilt is now 19-3 and 5-1 in the SEC.

Vandy makes a brief stop at home this week to host Tennessee Tech (9-9) before going back on the road for a three-game series at LSU (16-8, 1-5 SEC).

Lacrosse

Vanderbilt impressively ran its winning streak to seven over the weekend with a two-game sweep at East Carolina. The Commodores are now 9-2 and 4-0 in the American Athletic Conference with all four league wins coming on the road.

Head coach Beth Hewitt’s team is averaging nearly 15 goals in league play and senior Gabby Fornia broke Vanderbilt’s single-game assist record with nine Sunday.

This week the Dores are finally back home as they welcome Old Dominion for 1 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. Saturday contests.

Women’s tennis

Vanderbilt (12-5, 4-5 SEC) has found winning results hard to come by recently. The Commodores dropped a 4-3 decision to rival Tennessee and 4-2 decision to Georgia over the weekend and have now lost three matches in a row.

Vandy will be looking to right the ship this week when it starts a four game road trip at South Carolina at 4 p.m. CT Thursday followed by a trip to Florida for a 10 a.m. CT match Saturday.

Men’s tennis

The Commodores (5-11, 0-8 SEC) are still looking for their first league win of the season after dropping contests at Tennessee and at Georgia, respectively, last week.

Vandy will look ahead to three matches this week – all at the Currey Tennis Center – starting with a matchup against Tennessee State at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Commodores then host Florida at 1 p.m. Friday before entertaining South Carolina at noon Sunday.
