Lacrosse signees: Ashlin Dolan

Today we meet the sixth student-athlete to sign with the Vanderbilt lacrosse team for next school year, a New Jersey native prepping in Massachusetts: Ashlin Dolan.

DolanEntering her senior season, Dolan has started for the Groton Zebras for the past three years. Playing under the direction of coaches Martha Gracey and Jamie Hagerman, Dolan has been named a captain for the upcoming 2012 season.

Dolan was named a US Lacrosse first-team All-American in 2011 after earning All-League honors twice from the Independent School League. She has played for the Lower New England squad at the National Tournament three times, earning MVP honors for Team 1 last year.

The athletic Dolan ran her first half-marathon at age 15. At Groton, she also has been a four-year starter for the varsity field hockey team, earning honorable mention All-League honors twice.

Outside of school, Dolan competes for Leslie Frank’s MassElite club program.

Both of Dolan’s parents played collegiate lacrosse in Pennsylvania. Her mother, Amanda, was a two-time All-American at Gettysburg College, while her father, Richard, played at Franklin and Marshall College.
