Anchored For Her

Anchored for Her is our commitment. Our opportunity to make a difference. And our promise to future generations of women who deserve the opportunity to grow through sport.

Two athletes compete in a cross-country race, one wearing a black uniform with bib number 1222 and the other in a red uniform with bib number 1001.

For more than half a century, Vanderbilt women have lived this truth: Sport changes lives.

Anchored for Her is Vanderbilt’s platform for contributing to the broader movement advancing women and girls through sport. Building on 50 years of women’s athletics, we will advance, invest, inspire, celebrate, partner and convene to expand opportunity and help shape what comes next.

That begins at home, with an initial $50 million philanthropic investment in the people, programs, facilities and resources that help Vanderbilt women compete, lead and thrive—and extends far beyond our campus.

We can draw on the experiences of our student-athletes and alumni, the leadership of our coaches and the intellectual resources of a world-class university to bring people and ideas together, expand opportunity and help shape what comes next.”

LEADING THE WAY

Anchored for Her launched with generous lead gifts from Vanderbilt Board of Trust
members Nina Kohler and Kathleen Justice-Moore, JD’91.

Nina Kohler’s lead investment supports the long-term excellence, opportunity and
competitive success of Vanderbilt women’s athletics.

Kathleen Justice-Moore’s gift endowed the Candice Storey Lee Scholarship, supporting
student-athletes who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership and a commitment to
service. Women’s basketball student-athlete Sacha Washington ‘26 was the scholarship’s
first recipient.
