NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt baseball left-handed pitcher Carter Holton received Freshman All-America honors from both Baseball America and D1Baseball, the publications announced recently.
Holton sported a 3.14 ERA across his rookie season to lead all Commodore starters and place sixth in the SEC. His 97 strikeouts on the year rank sixth in the conference and second on the Vandy pitching staff.
The Savannah, Georgia, native posted an 8-4 record on the mound, while notching a team-high eight quality starts.
With the honors, Holton concludes the season as a unanimous Freshman All-American. He was also named to the Freshman All-SEC Team earlier this season.
