NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Ninety-six student-athletes were among the graduates from Vanderbilt University for the 2022-23 academic year. Due to inclement weather, the 2023 commencement exercises were held Friday at Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville.
The graduating group of Commodores was honored Thursday by the athletics department in a ceremony at the David Williams II Recreation and Wellness Center. The graduates heard from athletics director Candice Lee and outgoing Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President Marcella Cruz (women’s tennis). They were also introduced to their new status as members of the Black and Gold Club, Vanderbilt’s letterwinners society.
