Two More Arrive on West End

Recruiting and video departments receive additions

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt head football coach Clark Lea announced two additions to his staff Monday. Christina DeRuyter joins the Commodores as the on-campus recruiting coordinator while Matthew Dompreh will be the assistant director of video services.

DeRuyter spent the last two seasons at Texas Tech in the same role. She organized and executed all aspects of Red Raider on-campus recruiting, including planning the travel, accommodations, meals, meetings, tours and activities for every prospective student-athlete.

Prior to her two-year stint in Lubbock, DeRuyter was with the University of Arizona in a recruiting role during the 2018 campaign. She was previously a football operations and recruiting student worker at her alma mater, Texas A&M, for four seasons (2014-17) before accepting an events intern position with the NFL Players Association (NFLPA).

She helped coordinate logistics for many of the NFLPA’s top events such as the Super Bowl, Collegiate Bowl and Rookie Premier among others.

DeRuyter graduated cum laude from Texas A&M in 2017 with a degree in sports management and a minor in business administration and communication.

DeRuyter is the daughter Tim and Kara DeRuyter. Her father is currently the defensive coordinator and outside linebackers coach at Oregon and spent the 2017-20 seasons at California as the defensive coordinator, co-defensive coordinator and associate head coach following a five-year stint (2012-16) as the head coach at Fresno State.

Dompreh, a member of the Collegiate Sports Video Association, served in a similar capacity at the University of Iowa since 2019. Prior to his arrival with the Hawkeyes, he was an assistant video coordinator at Kansas State for the 2018 campaign. With the Wildcats, he managed film through the XOS database and help organize and achieve daily needs for video operations.

At Boston College for the 2017 season, Dompreh was an associate video analyst, creating highlights and social media content for the football team and athletic department. He spent 2015 and 2016 at Pittsburgh as a video graduate assistant. Before joining the Panthers, Dompreh was with the University of Houston as a video assistant for the football and track and field programs.

A December, 2014 Western Kentucky graduate with a degree in sports management, Dompreh was a student-manager for the Hilltopper baseball program from 2011-13 and a student intern with the Western Kentucky football team from 2013-14. He also took graduate classes in health and physical activity while at Pitt.
