On-Campus Recruiting Coordinator

Christina DeRuyter joined Vanderbilt as the on-campus recruiting coordinator in March, 2021.

DeRuyter spent the previous two seasons at Texas Tech in the same role. She organized and executed all aspects of Red Raider on-campus recruiting, including planning the travel, accommodations, meals, meetings, tours and activities for every prospective student-athlete.

Prior to her two-year stint in Lubbock, DeRuyter was with the University of Arizona in a recruiting role during the 2018 campaign. She was previously a football operations and recruiting student worker at her alma mater, Texas A&M, for four seasons (2014-17) before accepting an events intern position with the NFL Players Association (NFLPA). She helped coordinate logistics for many of the NFLPA’s top events such as the Super Bowl, Collegiate Bowl and Rookie Premier among others.

DeRuyter graduated cum laude from Texas A&M in 2017 with a degree in sports management and a minor in business administration and communication.

DeRuyter is the daughter Tim and Kara DeRuyter. Her father is currently the defensive coordinator and outside linebackers coach at Oregon. He spent the 2017-20 seasons at California as the defensive coordinator, co-defensive coordinator and associate head coach following a five-year stint (2012-16) as the head coach at Fresno State. He was the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at Texas A&M from 2010-11 prior to his hiring at Fresno State.
