The Vanderbilt football program offers multiple student employment opportunities available to both undergraduate and graduate students at Vanderbilt, as well as other area colleges and universities. VUFB Departments

Athletic Training

Athletic training student workers will assist the sports medicine staff during practices and games. These opportunities are for individuals who are NOT enrolled in an accredited athletic training education program. Those enrolled in an accredited athletic training education program interested in a clinical immersion experience should reach out to Jordan Pierce and Sara Melby.

  • Assist sports medicine staff with organization and logistics for practices and game days
  • Work with group to set-up, operate and breakdown practice materials
  • Ensure proper hydration and perform basic first aid at practices

Coaches Video

  • Film practice, workouts, camps and games for coaches and student-athletes
  • Marking, keywording and sorting film from practices, workouts and games
  • Assist in managing and distribution of coaches film and social media content

Communications & Social Media

  • Support the external efforts of the communications, social and content teams for VUFB
  • Assist the communications staff in various areas, including media management, office tasks and game day assistance
  • Help the social media staff in creating and sharing content via VUFB social channels, as well as creating content to be shared by student-athletes and coaches
  • Volunteer and course credit work available, as well as selected hourly positions

Equipment

The purpose of being a student equipment manager is to assist players, coaches, and staff with all equipment and apparel needs. You will be required to work with your fellow student managers to efficiently execute daily operations of the equipment room, navigate practice sessions and prepare for games. You will face challenges along the way that require your full commitment to the Vanderbilt University football program.

  • Work practices and games alongside coaches, staff and student-athletes
  • A variety of tasks in the football equipment room including but not limited to issuing apparel, decaling helmets, product inventory and organization
  • Attend home games with the potential of travel for away games
  • Gain valuable experience in a Power 5/SEC football program

Football Operations

Football operations interns will have the opportunity to work with many of the day-to-day phases of Vanderbilt football. Depending on the academic term, interns will be involved with:

  • Summer team workouts and execution of practice
  • Involvement with planning and execution of the fall football camp calendar
  • Involvement with football team travel planning
  • Support the planning and facilitation of VUFB summer camps

Recruiting

  • Track offer reports from around the country to catch trends and monitor prospects within our footprint
  • Assist with the operations of all recruiting visits, including gamedays, unofficial visits, official visits and Junior Days
  • Create prospect profiles on visiting prospects
  • Manage recruiting database needs such as updating school information, prospect contact information, notes, and birthdays
  • Cut prospect film to create profile tapes in order to better evaluate prospects
  • Assist in research projects as it relates to the NFL draft, recruiting classes, past Vanderbilt teams, and much more

Sports Nutrition

  • Assist in the day-to-day operation of the fueling station
    • Stock fuel station
    • Receive deliveries/caterings
    • Make post-lift recovery shakes
    • Create nutrition education handouts
    • Assist with hydration and sweat testing
    • Work on projects assigned by sports dietitians

Football Sports Performance

  • Assist with training session set up and break down
  • Routine maintenance/cleaning of the training facilities
  • Applied sports science implementation, testing protocols and data collection

Creative (Graphics, Photo & Video)

  • Graphic designers, videographers, photographers and video editors to support internal football creative needs
  • Accepting internship and class credit opportunities
  • Open to current students in the Nashville area, including Vanderbilt, Belmont, Lipscomb and Tennessee State
  • Students seeking credit for the Spring 2024 semester should apply by Jan. 31
