Three retained, former NCAA women’s basketball champion Koko Nelson added

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt head football coach Clark Lea announced Tuesday three staff retentions and the addition of assistant on-campus recruiting coordinator Koko Nelson.

Remaining with the Commodores are director of video services Chas Petrone and director of internal operations Charlotte Siegel.

Brandon Jones also stays with the program and will transition from offensive quality control to player personnel analyst.

Nelson spent the last two seasons with the Minnesota football program as a recruiting and graphics design assistant. During her time with the Golden Gophers the team went 14-6 and captured the 2019 Outback Bowl with a 31-34 victory against Auburn.

A Notre Dame graduate, Nelson was a 2018 NCAA national champion with the women’s basketball program. She was a student-athlete from 2013-18 and a two-time ACC All-Academic honoree.

While at Notre Dame, Nelson also worked as a graphic design intern, creating graphics for all sports to use on UND.com, emails and social media. She also worked as an intern with Winning Edge Leadership and made custom social media graphics for leadership retreat participants.

Petrone enters his fourth season at Vanderbilt. He is responsible for organizing the team’s video production staff, managing game and practice film, preparing video for uses by position coaches and creating highlight videos and graphics for team use.

Siegel embarks on her ninth year on West End. She oversees all administrative operations, coordinates hiring efforts on behalf of the football team and coordinates football alumni relations efforts.

Jones will begin his third season as a member of the Commodore staff. He spent the past two seasons in an offensive quality control role. He joined Vanderbilt after serving as a physical education assistant at Cumberland Academy (Ga.) and completing an internship in the Green Bay Packers’ scouting and personnel department during the summer of 2018.
