Morse played in every game as a senior DT, earning nine starting assignments, including the BBVA Compass Bowl… Provided veteran leadership and stability in the defensive line corps… Shared playing time among four-player DT rotation of Barron Dixon, Vince Taylor and Adam Butler… Earned starts against Austin Peay, South Carolina and final seven opponents… Finished the regular season with 24 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a QB sack and four passes defended… Registered season high of four solo tackles, including a 5-yard sack, and knocked down two passes in win over Kentucky… Posted at least one tackle in every game… Notched three tackles in win at Tennessee… Contributed a tackle for QB hurry in BBVA Compass Bowl victory over Houston.
2012
Morse is having the best season of his Commodore career… The junior defensive tackle has played in all 13 games, while making six starts… Through the regular season finale, he has registered career highs with 17 solo tackles, 24 total tackles and nine tackles for loss… Also notched two sacks and four passes defended… Made a career-best 2.5 tackles for loss versus Presbyterian… Tied a season-high with four tackles against UMass, while also recording two tackles for loss… Also contributed effectively in team[apos]s Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl victory.
2011
Morse continued to develop as a dependable run-stopping defensive tackle in his second season… Played in all 13 regular season games as key reserve DT… Concluded campaign with eight total tackles, and six unassisted stops… Season-high two tackles against Elon… Notched tackles for loss in conference games against Alabama and Arkansas… Also contributed pair of pass breakups in passing situations.
2010
One of 13 true freshmen to see action, Morse played in eight games at tackle… Pressed into action when DT starters Adam Smotherman and T.J. Greenstone were injured… Finished year with seven tackles, including for a loss, and a pass defensed…Had two tackles against Florida and Wake Forest.
High School
Senior captain… In 2009, contributed 88 total tackles including 53 unassisted stops and 31 tackles for loss and seven QB sacks, helping Yellow Jackets to 8-4 record and second round of 6A playoffs… Scored on an interception return as senior… Earned second team All-State as defensive lineman by Alabama sportswriters and All-Area recognition from Anniston Star… Had dominating three-sack performance in postseason Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game… As junior, contributed 74 total tackles, five QB sacks and 27 tackles for loss.
