In his role on the baseball staff, Foster serves as the direct link to all affiliated departments on campus, inclusive of communications, social media, marketing, and development among others. He helps manage the general branding and messaging of the Vanderbilt baseball program, as well as assisting in the day-to-day operations.
In addition, he provides direct support for baseball’s student-athletes in all Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) efforts, as well as strategizing in facility projects and special events. He also serves as the lead for the baseball program’s Champions’ Circle NCC excellence fund.
He spent his first two years at Vanderbilt as an Associate Director of Communications, serving as the primary communications contact for the Vanderbilt baseball program, as well as the secondary contact for the football program. In his two seasons as the communications contact, he managed all social media platforms for the VandyBoys, helping grow the team’s social media followers by over 200% and become the first college baseball program to surpass 400,000 followers on Instagram.
In 2022, Foster was named to the College Sports Communicators’ inaugural ’30 Under 30’, which honors emerging strategic, creative and digital communications professionals throughout the CSC membership with achievement in areas such as professional success, impact on their athletic department or conference office, and service to College Sports Communicators.
Before joining the Vanderbilt staff, Foster worked for two-plus years at Duke, where he spent time as the primary contact for baseball and women’s soccer, while also serving as the secondary media contact for the men’s basketball program during the 2018-19 season.
During the summer of 2016, Foster was a Duke Athletics Open Door Initiative Intern. He assisted in support roles and became familiar with responsibilities in various departments including human resources, development, compliance, marketing, social media, sports information and ticketing.
A President’s List Scholar and Dean’s List Scholar, Foster graduated from the University of Alabama in December of 2017 with a degree in human performance and exercise science. He earned his master’s degree in sports business management from Alabama in 2018.
While at Alabama, Foster served as a student assistant in the athletics communications office for three years, working primarily with the baseball and football programs.
