#28 Grayson Garvin Season 2009-10

Coach Corbin Quote: Grayson came on mid-way through last year and pitched as well as anyone on our staff. He was very instrumental in getting us to the Super Regional. He had a great summer in the Cape Cod League, followed by a very good fall. I expect Grayson to have a big spring as part of our starting rotation on the weekends.

2011: Won his fifth game of the year allowing two runs, one earned, over 5.1 innings at Auburn 4/2… Fanned six over eight strong innings in his fourth win of the year at Arkansas 3/26… Turned in his first scoreless outing of the year striking out six in seven innings for his third win of the year against Mississippi State 3/19… Gave up seven runs, three earned, on six hits hits over six innings, striking out the side in his final inning against UIC 3/12… Earned his second win of the year pitching five solid innings allowing one run on three hits against Brown in first game of doubleheader 3/6… Pinned with the loss allowing four runs on eight hits with six strikeouts against Stanford 2/27… Tossed a career-best 8.1 innings in his first start of the year fanning a career-high 10 with no walks in win at USD 2/20, pitched six perfect innings and eight scoreless in victory.

2010: Went 1-1 with a stellar 1.25 ERA and a save in 13 appearances (two starts) on the season… Struck out 38 and walked 10 in 36 innings… Threw three-innings of three-hit scoreless relief in 6-2 win against Florida State at NCAA Super Regional (6/12)… Made second start of the season in NCAA Regional Championship game against Louisville, allowing one run on three hits with three strikeouts in a career-high six shutout innings against Louisville (6/7)… Allowed one run, scattering four hits while striking out a career-high six batters in 4.1 innings of middle relief against Illinois State at NCAA Regional (6/4)…Allowed two runs, one earned on four hits with one strikeout in 2.1 innings of relief against LSU at the SEC Tournament (5/27)… Tied a career-high with five strikeouts while throwing three innings of one-hit scoreless relief against Arkansas (5/22)… Allowed two hits and two walks with a strikeout in 1.1 innings of scoreless relief against Mississippi St. (5/15)… Allowed one run on three hits with two walks and three strikeouts in 3.1 innings of middle relief vs. Louisville (5/11)… Allowed three runs, one earned, on three hits with one walk and three strikeouts in 2.0 innings of relief against LSU (5/7)… Threw career-high five innings of four-hit shutout baseball with four strikeouts and no walks in the no-decision at Austin Peay (4/27)… Handed first loss of the season against Tennessee, allowing one run on one hit with one walk despite facing only two batters (4/25)… Allowed three hits with no walks and three strikeouts in career-high 3.2 innings of scoreless relief against Middle Tennessee (4/21)… Struck out the side in only inning of relief in win over Belmont (4/6)… Made first appearance of the season, striking out the side in the top of ninth in 7-2 win against Wofford (3/30).

2009: Went 0-1 with a 7.82 ERA in nine appearances on the season, including one start… Struck out 18 batters and walked eight in 12.2 innings of work… Allowed two runs, one hit and one walk in 0.1 innings of relief against LSU at the SEC Tournament (5/24)… Allowed three runs on two hits while walking one and striking out one in 1.1 innings of middle relief against Tennessee (5/14)… Struck out both batters he faced in middle relief role in series finale against Georgia (5/10)… Threw one inning of relief against South Carolina (5/2), allowing three runs on five hits while walking two and striking out three… Pitched an inning of scoreless relief against Alabama on 4/17, only allowing one hit… Pitched two innings of one hit scoreless relief against Belmont with three strikeouts and a walk (4/1) … Threw two innings of scoreless relief, giving up one hit and one walk while fanning two against Wright State (3/25)… Allowed three runs, scattering six hits with five strikeouts, earning the no decision in first career start against Lipscomb (3/10)… Made first career appearance in ninth inning against Vermont (2/28), fanning two batters in one-inning of relief … Went 0-0 with 3.86 ERA in eight games with Falmouth in the Cape Cod League.
