Coach Corbin Quote: Sean may have been one of our most improved pitchers this fall. His fastball and breaking ball command improved a great deal. He is a good athlete who can field his position and hold runners. Will be a big key for our team.
2008: Went 0-0 with 8.64 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 16.2 innings…Made first collegiate appearance against Arizona State (2/23), allowing six runs on three hits in 1.2 innings of work…Bounced back nicely from opening outing, striking out the side in his only inning against Evansville (2/27)…Saw first SEC action against South Carolina (3/14), pitching 0.1 of an inning, walking one and striking out one…Struck out five in two innings of scoreless work against Lipscomb (3/19) … Made first collegiate start against Middle Tennessee (3/26), gave up three runs, one earned, on four hits with a walk and two strikeouts in 3.0 innings of work. Did not factor in the decision…Made second start of the season against MTSU (4/2), allowing five runs on five hits in 3.2 innings. For the second straight week, he did not factor in the decision…Pitched two scoreless innings against Austin Peay (4/9), allowing only one hit while striking out two batters…Gave up one run on two hits with two strikeouts and a walk in relief against Mississippi State (4/11)…Walked and struck out a batter in 0.1 innings in relief against Lipscomb (4/15)…Closed out Auburn (4/19), allowing one hit with two strikeouts and a walk in 0.2 innings … Recorded an out and walked three batters against Tennessee Tech (5/7) … Went 2-2 with 3.70 ERA in 10 appearances for Keene of the New England Collegiate Baseball League over the summer. Struck out 42 batters in 41.1 innings of work.
