Head coach Tim Corbin on Baird: “Tyler inserted himself into our program long before he ever stepped foot on campus, and his love for Vanderbilt has been evident from the start. He is one of the more talented pitchers to arrive on campus and brings a true appreciation for the craft of pitching along with a competitive edge. Tyler possesses a very good arm and features above-average secondary pitches. He continued to improve throughout the fall, showing steady growth each time he took the mound. He arrived on campus this summer and immediately began making meaningful progress in the weight room, which has accelerated his overall development. Tyler will impact our pitching staff this year and has a very bright future in our program.”

 

As a Freshman (2026)
• Made 23 appearances, tied for most on the team
• Started five games, including two in SEC action
• His 45.0 IP ranked third on the team, second among freshmen
• Four of his team-leading five saves came against SEC opponents
• Ranked fourth on the team in strikeouts with 51
• Recorded a three-inning save against No. 4 Texas (April 25)
• First save came at #20 Texas A&M (April 2)
• Recorded first collegiate start vs. Eastern Michigan (Feb. 17), going 3.2 innings with four strikeouts
• Made collegiate debut at Globe Life Field vs. Texas Tech (Feb. 14)
