#3 Carter Johnstone

Head coach Tim Corbin on Johnstone: “Carter enters our program with one year of collegiate experience and brings a strong foundation with him. As the younger brother of Logan, Carter has already shown his own ability to perform at a high level, putting together a very productive first year of college baseball. He is a versatile infielder who can handle multiple positions and brings a steady, reliable presence on the field. Offensively, Carter has very good bat-to-ball skills and uses the entire field with intention. He has an advanced understanding of the strike zone and shows above-average plate discipline. Carter competes with a steady heartbeat and has made a continued commitment to his physical development, particularly in the area of strength. As the fall progressed, his growth became noticeable both on and off the field. Carter has positioned himself to impact our team this year in a meaningful way.”

• Perfect Game Freshman All-American Second Team
• Big West Freshman Field Player of the Year
• All-Big West First Team
• Big West Field Player of the Week (April 7)
• Played and started 53 out of 56 games
• Finished season with a .344 batting average, ranking second on the team and 10th in The Big West while adding 47 runs and 42 RBI
• Led the Big West in batting average and runs scored during conference play with a .415 average and 34 runs
• Had a career-high three home runs on April 6 at CSUN

• Born in Budapest, Hungary, before moving to Spain and eventually California
