NORMAN, Okla. – On Monday, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced that the Vanderbilt men’s golfers were named NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars for the 2025-26 season.
Ryan Downes, Chase Nevins and Wells Williams were each selected. It marks the fourth-straight season that Vanderbilt has had three or more GCAA All-America Scholar honorees.
For Nevins and Williams, it marks their second-straight season on the GCAA All-America Scholar team. They become the 11th and 12th Commodore golfers to be selected two or more times. Additionally, it is Downes first time on the team.
Under the direction of Scott Limbaugh, the Thomas F. Roush, M.D., and Family Vanderbilt Men's Golf Head Coach, Vandy has had 18 student-athletes earn a total of 33 GCAA All-America Scholar selections.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
All three of Vanderbilt’s GCAA All-America Scholars were also named to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll, where they were joined by teammates Bowen Ballis, John Broderick, Ryan Downes and Ben Loomis. Additionally, Williams was named to the College Sports Communicators All-America team and was selected as the SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year for the second-consecutive season.
