Ginther, Seiber Named to Midseason Watch List

Ryan Ginther and Brennan Seiber recognized with nation’s top relievers

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt baseball’s Ryan Ginther and Brennan Seiber are two of 59 college baseball relief pitchers named to the Midseason Watch List for the 19th annual National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year award, the NCBWA announced Wednesday.

Ginther holds a 2.41 ERA this season with 18.2 innings over 13 appearances. A Hendersonville, Tennessee, native, Ginther’s four saves is tied for the team lead. Opposing hitters are managing just a .188 average against him.

Seiber is tied with Ginther this season with four saves. The righty has a 3-0 record with a 2.81 ERA and is holding batters to a .185 average. Seiber has registered 25.2 innings over a team-leading 15 appearances.

Vanderbilt is one of only two SEC programs to have multiple arms on the Stopper of the Year Midseason Watch List.

The Commodores are back in action at home this weekend with a three-game series at Hawkins Field against Mississippi State. Friday’s series opener is set for a 6 p.m. first pitch.
