NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt women’s tennis will compete at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships beginning Thursday in Murfreesboro.
More than 8,000 student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges compete in the ITA Regional Championships. In Division I, regional doubles and singles champions and finalists qualify for the ITA National Fall Championships, which will take place in San Diego, California, beginning on Nov. 4.
The last time on the court, at the annual June Stewart Invitational, the Dores swept all six of their singles matches in straight sets and won nine of 10 overall on the final day of competition. In doubles play, Dasha Kourkina and Amy Stevens defeated their Illinois counterparts while Yufei Long and Anessa Lee outlasted a Miami duo 7-5. In addition, the nation’s ninth-ranked duo of Anna Ross and Holly Staff won again 6-2.
Following the ITA Regionals, the Commodores will compete at the Tennessee Fall Invitational in Knoxville on Oct. 28-31.
