Clear Bag Policy & Prohibited Items

  • Similar to other venues on Vanderbilt’s campus and in compliance with the Southeastern Conference, Hawkins Field institutes a clear bag policy. Fans will not be permitted into the venue with bags that are prohibited.
  • Non-compliant bags must be returned to your vehicle. Per Vanderbilt University policy, items abandoned outside of the facility will be discarded. To read more, click here. 
  • Medically necessary items must be screened at gates. Diaper bags are not considered a medically necessary item and will not be permitted. All diaper bag supplies should be carried in a clear bag that meets regulations.
  • Approved clear bags may be purchased at the Vanderbilt Bookstore (2525 West End Avenue).

* Please note that even items received at a Vanderbilt-sponsored game day event (Alumni Tailgate, Parents Weekend, etc.) are subject to the same standards and will be denied access if it is determined to be a prohibited item.

Alcohol – Fans may not bring outside alcohol into any athletic facility.

AnimalsNo animals of any kind are permitted inside Hawkins Field except for service animals. Pets and emotional support animals are not allowed.

Bags/PursesHawkins Field follows the SEC’s Clear Bag Policy. Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to:

  • Backpacks (including clear backpacks)
  • Binocular cases
  • Briefcases
  • Camera bags
  • Cinch/drawstring bags
  • Computer bags
  • Coolers
  • Diaper bags
  • Fanny packs
  • Luggage of any kind
  • Mesh bags
  • Printed pattern plastic bags
  • Purses
  • Tinted bags
  • Any bag larger than the permissible size

Banners/Flags/Signage – No unauthorized banners, signs, or flags may be brought into Hawkins Field. All items are subject to approval by Vanderbilt staff and must follow the guidelines in the Vanderbilt and SEC Code of Conduct. 

CamerasNo spectator cameras with lenses over six inches (6”) long will be permitted. The use of flash is prohibited.

Carry-In Items – Spectators are not permitted to bring any food or beverage containers into the facility. Bottles, coolers, and containers of any kind are prohibited. 

Medical Bag Checks – Fans who need to bring in a medical bag will need to have their bag checked. Medical bag check will be available at every entry point.

NoisemakersNo items that produce loud noises (air horns, whistles, etc.) are allowed in accordance with SEC regulations.

Outside Food and Beverage – Fans are not permitted to bring in any outside food or beverage containers.

Outside Sporting Equipment, including but not limited to footballs, beach balls, etc, are not permitted.

Radios – Radios are allowed only if they do not interfere with other guests’ enjoyment of the game. 

Seatbacks/Seat Cushions – Seatbacks or seat cushions larger than a single seat are not allowed inside Hawkins Field. 

Selfie Sticks – All selfie sticks are prohibited.

Strollers – Strollers are not allowed inside and must not be left at the gates.

Tobacco – No smoking is permitted inside, including all areas inside and outside of the gates. Electronic and smokeless cigarettes are also prohibited. Vanderbilt University is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is prohibited in all buildings on campus, including University residence halls and Greek chapter houses, and on the grounds of the campus with the exception of designated outdoor smoking areas. There are no designated smoking areas.

Umbrellas – Umbrellas are not permitted in Hawkins Field.

Video Recorders– All video recorders are prohibited. 

Weapons– Weapons of any kind, including guns, knives, pocket knives, explosive devices, etc. are not permitted in Hawkins Field. Attempting to bring weapons of any kind will result in immediate arrest. 

Metal Detectors - NEW

Vanderbilt Athletics has implemented walk-through weapons detection technology at Hawkins Field to enhance fan safety while maintaining efficient entry into athletic events. The system allows fans to simply walk through without removing personal items or lifting arms. The clear bag policy remains in effect. 

Cashless

Hawkins Field is fully cashless to provide faster, safer, and more convenient transactions for all fans.

All major credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other contactless payment methods are accepted at concessions, merchandise stands, and throughout Hawkins Field.

Please plan accordingly—cash is not accepted anywhere inside the venue.

 

Parking

Game Day Parking Information

General Parking –

Free parking is available in the 25th Avenue Garage on floors 8-10 only, with the exception of when men’s basketball has a home game, there is a fee to park. This will impact baseball fans attending the 2/21 game. There will be a $40 fee to park in the garage until approximately 1:30 p.m. Fans who still wish to park in this garage may purchase a parking pass in advance for a discounted rate.

Fans may enter through the Highland Avenue or 25th Avenue entrances. On weekdays, fans must pull forward into spaces and only park on floors 8-10. Fans who park on any other floor are subject to a parking ticket. Please adhere to all posted signage when parking in other locations, and please note that ongoing construction projects may impact accessibility to/from games.

Parking Lot 71 is no longer accessible to vehicles.

The McGugin Center is not accessible for parking. This includes handicap parking that has previously been available in the McGugin Center lot.

Towing – Vehicles without proper game day permits are subject to ticketing and towing. Please call Vanderbilt University Police at (615) 322-2745 to claim your vehicle.

 

ADA Accessible Parking

Accessible Parking – Game day ADA parking is available in the 25th Avenue Garage.

  • ADA parking is available in the corners of the garage near the elevators. Shuttle service will run from the garage to Hawkins Field once gates open, 90 minutes prior to first pitch. This will resume post-game.
  • Do not park in spaces marked as “reserved”.
  • Tailgating is not permitted in the garage.
  • 25th Avenue Garage has a clearance of 6’10” and cannot accommodate oversized/high clearance vehicles.

ADA Seating – Wheelchair seating is limited. Patrons should contact the Vanderbilt Ticket Office at 615.322.4653 to make arrangements in advance. 

ADA Entry   Due to construction, right field will be offline indefinitely. The entrance to Hawkins Field for infield seating will be through the front gates and is ADA accessible. The entrance to left field will be through the center field ramp. The ADA accessible outfield entrance is located in center field by Memorial Gymnasium.

Fans who need to bring in a medical bag will need to have their bag checked. Medical bag check will be located at each entry point.

All spectators over the age of two must have a ticket for entry. Children two and under are expected to sit in the lap of a parent. 

Per Southeastern Conference policy, re-entry is not permitted. If you leave the facility for any reason, you must have a new ticket to be admitted. 

All ticket sales are final. No refunds will be given after tickets are purchased.

Digital Ticketing Information

Tickets to Vanderbilt home games are distributed digitally and should be scanned via mobile phone for entry.

Fans should download their ticket(s) to their mobile wallet (Apple iPhones) or Google Play (Android phones) application on their phone ahead of arriving to campus. Once tickets are in the mobile wallet, cell phone service and wifi are not required to access. Learn more.

During the week, the ticket office is open during business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. CT) inside the McGugin Center (2601 Jess Neely Drive, Nashville, TN 37212)

On game days, the McGugin Center ticket office opens 2 hours prior to first pitch.

Player Pass List

Guests on the player pass list for the visiting team may pick up their tickets at the McGugin Center Located on Jess Neely Dr. If the visiting team has digital tickets, please make sure to have your tickets downloaded before entering the stadium.

Student Ticketing

All Vanderbilt students (enrolled undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students) have access to a free student ticket account and free tickets.

Fans have the opportunity to donate any of their unused tickets to local organizations and families. Unused tickets may be donated in advance of the game to Vet Tix, serving Veterans and their families.

Fan Information – For assistance during any game, please contact the nearest guest services staff member or text DORES to 55744. If texting, please include your seat location and description of the issue. 

Fan Assistance – Dedicated fan assistance locations are located in the concourse behind home plate. Fans needing assistance may also seek out any guest services staff member.

Concessions

A variety of concessions are offered at each home game. Concession stands are cashless and accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.  Click here to learn more about concessions. 

Merchandise & Apparel

Due to construction, the bookstore pop-up trailer will now be located on the concourse down the left field line (closer to the Memorial Gym ramp). The store offers VandyBoys hats, t-shirts and more!

First Aid

First Aid – LifeFlight is stationed in the outfield and at the First Aid room on the infield concourse. If you need assistance, Guest Services or Vanderbilt staff can contact LifeFlight.

Lost & Found

Valuable items are secured by Vanderbilt Police. If realized during the game, find a guest services member to inquire. Following the game, please call VUPD at (615) 322-2745 to follow up on a lost item.

Lost Persons

 If you are separated from your family or child, please alert the nearest guest services staff, security, or Vanderbilt Athletics staff immediately. 

Security

Any uniformed police officer, security officer, guest services member, or Vanderbilt Athletics staff member are available throughout the venue to provide assistance during the game.

Sensory Room

Furthering Vanderbilt’s commitment to creating an inclusive game day experience for everyone, a sensory room has been added inside the First Aid room located by Section Q on the concourse. The room can accommodate three-to-four guests at a time and has interactive boards as well as sensory bags and noise canceling headphones available on request. A sensory trained guest services team member staffs the room (outside the door) and uses their best judgment on the time allotted for guests to use the room.| Map

VANDERBILT ATHLETICS FAN CODE OF CONDUCT

Vanderbilt is committed to providing a safe and welcoming atmosphere for our teams and fans to enjoy. Vanderbilt Athletics reserves the right to institute measures for any language, actions or demonstrations in violation of the Vanderbilt Athletics Fan Code of Conduct. This includes, but is not limited to, ejection from the facility and revocation of future ticket privileges. Violation of laws or city ordinances may result in arrest or prosecution. 

Fans, coaches, administrators and student-athletes all share a mutual commitment and responsibility to provide a safe and respectful competitive environment. Please adhere to the Fan Code of Conduct and abide by the SEC Zero Tolerance Policy. 

Fans are expected to… 

  • Show respect to all student-athletes, coaches, officials and surrounding fans at all times.
  • Assume responsibility for their conduct.
  • Comply with zero-tolerance policies related to any form of harassment, discrimination or abusive language.
  • Adhere to requests and directives from match day event staff and law enforcement personnel regarding venue operation and emergency response procedures.
  • Refrain from entering the playing surface without proper authorization or credentials.

Additional Guidelines

  • Dates and times on game tickets are subject to change. 
  • Vanderbilt University policies and state and federal laws will be in effect. 
  • Profanity and abusive language are highly discouraged during athletic contests. Guests using profanity or abusive language towards student-athletes, coaches, officials, staff or fellow spectators may have their ticket revoked and be removed from the venue.
  • Throwing items onto the playing surface or directly at fellow spectators will not be tolerated and is grounds for removal from the venue. 
  • Unauthorized persons entering the playing surface will be removed from the venue and arrested. 
  • Failure to adhere to rules may prevent admission, cause removal from an event, and jeopardize the violator’s attendance at future Vanderbilt Athletics events, including forfeiture of season tickets and the opportunity to purchase single-game tickets.
