Hunter Stewart is a junior from Lexington, Ky. Stewart is a two-year letter winner at Vanderbilt and regarded as one of the best golfers in the Southeastern Conference.

Favorite movie/music?
Movies: Good Will Hunting, Gladiator and Shawshank Redemption are among my favorites. Picking just one would be too much to ask.

Music: Mumford & Sons, The Avett Brothers and 90’s music is what you will hear in my car.

Name a guilty pleasure.
Donuts…especially from Fox’s Donut Den. The apple fritter isn’t all that bad either.

Hobbies?
I really enjoy fishing. I used to go all the time before college. Charlie Ewing has gotten me interested in hunting. Being outdoors beats being inside when the weather permits.

Name someone that impacted your life and why.
My parents have had the most impact on my life. I look to them most on how to live. Outside of them, my grandfather has impacted me most. He works hard and is old-fashioned. He helps keep all of the fast-paced, rushed lifestyles we live today in perspective. His generosity has spilled over into my life as well. He has always loved giving both his money and his time. He showed me it’s harder to give time than money, but it’s just as important.

Why did you get into golf?
Until middle school, I played baseball, but then my family moved. My best friend after the move played golf, so I picked it up and got hooked. He now plays for the University of Kentucky. Our freshman year we were paired together in the first round of the SEC tournament. It was pretty cool to see how far we had both come since fifth grade.

What’s on your DVR?
I love House of Cards and True Detective.

If you could have dinner with three people, who would you choose?
Jesus. Every event in history is categorized as being before or after His time on Earth. I believe there is something special about Him.

My great-grandfather. He was 80 years older than me when I was born and would have turned 100 earlier this month. I think it would be cool to get the perspective of someone who lived and raised kids during the Great Depression.

Kobe Bryant. I know this one takes a new direction. Being from Kentucky I love basketball, and Kobe was my favorite player growing up. I love watching him play and how he works hard. There is much to be learned from one of the game’s greatest competitors.

How do you want to be remembered?
At Vanderbilt, I want to be remembered as a great teammate, someone who would do anything for his team. In golf, I want to be known as a great competitor, someone who doesn’t give in, who plays their best when their best is required. In life, I want to be known as a family man who is respectful, honest and caring.
