Three former Commodores pitched in major league spring training games yesterday with David Price (Tampa Bay), Mike Minor (Atlanta) and Nick Christiani (Cincinnati) all pitching for their respective teams. Price was tagged for four runs on five hits with four strikeouts over 3.2 innings. Minor turned in four scoreless innings, striking out four against Miami. Christiani took the loss for the Reds against Kansas City after allowing one run on two hits in his lone inning of work.

Price’s Rays played Baltimore yesterday in a game that saw another former Dore Ryan Flaherty hit his first home run of the spring. Flaherty is battling for a spot on the Oriorles’ 25-man roster after being a Rule 5 Draft selection from the Chicago Cubs in December. He has played in seven games for the O’s this spring hitting .316 with five RBI.

Other former Commodores that have logged big league time this spring are: Pedro Alvarez with Pittsburgh, Jensen Lewis with Arizona, Mike Baxter with the New York Mets, Casey Weathers with the Cubs, Sonny Gray with Oakland and Curt Casali with Detroit.
