ATHENS, Ga. – The Vanderbilt men’s tennis team wrapped up play at the 42nd annual Southern Intercollegiate Championships Monday afternoon.
Alex Zotov fell to Hernus Pieters in the championship match of singles Division II. Zotov took Pieters to a tiebreaker in the first set and eventually lost, 7-6(4) and dropped the second set, 6-3. Zotov closed out the tournament with a 5-1 record in singles play.
Throughout the four day event, the ‘Dores tallied 19 total wins between singles and doubles play.
The Commodores are back in action next weekend at the Georgia Tech Classic, Oct. 1-4 in Atlanta.
