Pole Vaulters Spring to New Heights

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Commodore pole vaulting staff led the Vanderbilt track and field team in the final day of the SEC Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
 
Kristen Denk led the way with a Vanderbilt record mark of 14-2.75 (4.34m) to finish third. Margaret Ollinger collected a personal-best at 13-5 (4.09m) to finish seventh while Caleigh Lofstead came in ninth with a season-best mark of 12-11 (3.94m).
 
“I am very proud of our vaulters today,” head coach Steven Keith said. “They really stepped up. It was a great way to finish off the championship.”
 
Ana Wallace posted a personal-record 10:05.26 in the 3000 meters.
 
Anna Grace Morgan (10:03.63), Jacqueline Pinon (10:07.18) and Gillian Mortimer (10:08.22) also finished the 3000-meter run.
 
Vanderbilt finished 14th with nine points. Arkansas took home the SEC Indoor Championship crown with 151 points while Texas A&M (70), Alabama (67), Florida (61) and LSU (58) rounded out the top-five.
