LAS VEGAS – Vanderbilt baseball won both seven-inning exhibitions Sunday against Nevada at Las Vegas Ballpark, scoring 16 runs on 24 hits across the 14 innings.
The Commodores won the first game 6-4 and took the second 10-1. Vandy hit three home runs, a triple and a pair of doubles to go along with seven walks.
JD Rogers rocketed a homer and drove in a pair of runs in Game 1. He also doubled in Game 2. From the right side of the plate, Rustan Rigdon blasted a two-run homer in his first at-bat in Game 2 and followed with an RBI single from the left side of the plate in his next trip to the plate.

Mike Mancini joined the homer club with a shot to right later in Game 2. He finished the game 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBI.

On the mound, 14 arms each got one inning of work. The Commodore pitchers tallied 22 strikeouts to only four walks. Over Vandy’s 28 innings of fall ball, the Dores have 44 strikeouts to nine walks.
