Vandy Drops Contest to No. 12 Mississippi State

Dores claim third straight SEC doubles point

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Commodores dropped the first contest of the weekend against No. 12 Mississippi State by a score of 5-2.

Vanderbilt began the day with Dore duo No. 35 Jeremie Casabon and Siim Troost topping Mississippi State’s No. 44 pair Carles Hernandez and Nemanja Malesevic on Court 1 for their third straight SEC doubles win. On Court 2, Nathan Cox and Michael Ross forced the tiebreak set against their Bulldog opponent, coming out on top 7-6 (7-4). The Dores led 1-0 going into singles play.

In singles play, Mississippi State grabbed four straight wins to clinch the match. Macsen Sisam picked up the lone singles point for the Commodores.  The Bulldogs won 5-2.
