MIAMI – The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team continued play at the Miami Spring Invite Saturday with a half dozen singles matches against top-ranked Texas before playing the host Hurricanes in three doubles matches.
Anessa Lee picked up wins in a singles and doubles to lead the way for the No. 20 Commodores during Saturday’s play.
In singles Lee fought to a three-set win before teaming up with Marcella Cruz in doubles to battle back and force a tie-break that they eventually won 11-9.
Bridget Stammel notched a straight sets singles win, to record her fifth consecutive victory and boost her singles record to 15-2.
