NEW FACES IN NASHVILLE
• Six graduate transfers and nine freshmen joined the Commodores’ roster for the 2025-26 season
• Notable newcomers include two-time NCAA Division III 800 meters champion Kelty Oaster and past NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships qualifier Elizabeth Bailey and regional qualifiers Jayden Hill and Tyla Lumley
• Vandy’s freshman class includes 11-time state champion Danielle Dunning, two-time Alabama Girls Track and Field Gatorade Player of the Year Janie Ford, 10-time Greek national champion Myrto Valacha and 4×100-meter relay AAU national record holder Kylah Woods
DORES ON THE NATIONAL STAGE
• Vanderbilt boasted two national qualifiers in 2025
• Allyria McBride earned first-team All-America honors after placing eighth in the 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA Outdoor Championships
• Falon Spearman, who finished 13th at regionals in 2024, qualified for the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships after placing 11th in the regional quarterfinals (13.13) and resetting the school record in the first round (13.03)
• At the 2025 USATF U20 Outdoor Championships, Lily Kriegel won the 5,000 meters and placed third in the 1,500 meters
• Making her Commodore debut at the 2025 USATF Outdoor Championships, Bailey broke the school record in the javelin
MCBRIDE MAKES HER MARK
• In 2025, McBride returned to the NCAA Outdoor Championships stage after narrowly missing qualifying in 2024
• McBride competed at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials and advanced to the 400-meter hurdles semifinals where she finished top 25
• A five-time program record holder, McBride became Vanderbilt’s first true freshman All-American since 1997 when she earned a second-team nod in the 400-meter hurdles in 2023
RECORD WATCH
• Active student-athletes hold school records in two individual events and 26 people own marks ranking in the program’s all-time top 10
• At the 2025 SEC Indoor Championships, the distance medley relay team of Audrey Allman, McBride, Elli Wolski and Julia Rosenberg set a program record and placed seventh
• McBride is ranked second in program history in the 300 and 600 meters, while Bria Bennis and Marta Sivina are the No. 2-ranked Dores in their respective events, the 5,000 meters and pentathlon
SUCCESS UNDER THOMAS
• Now in her fifth season at the helm, director of cross country and track and field Althea Thomas led the Commodores to back-to-back top 25 finishes at the NCAA Outdoor Championships
• Under Thomas’ direction, Dores have achieved 19 All-America and five NCAA women’s cross country All-South Region honors
• At the 2025 NCAA South Region Championships, the Vanderbilt women’s cross country team earned a fifth-place finish, its best since 2016, and three student-athletes earned all-region honors
