Tennis signee: Frances Altick

Altick is a blue chip recruitFrances Altick, a senior from Monroe, Louisiana, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Vanderbilt University women’s tennis team. Ranked in the top fifteen in the Girls 18 and under national rankings, Altick is rated as a blue chip prospect by TennisRecruiting.com. She won the National Open in July of this year, and also received the Sportsmanship Award for that tournament.

Altick is coached by Harold Solomon, who is a former world-class player now based in Ft. Lauderdale. She has a reputation as a smart tactician who is extremely fit and mentally tough. Vanderbilt coach Geoff Macdonald describes her as ” a stellar student-athlete, a leader, and one of the best competitors I’ve seen in the last few years. Frances has a huge heart, and we are thrilled that she’s chosen Vanderbilt.”

Altick is the daughter of Jay and Helena Altick, both of whom are physicians in Monroe, Louisiana.
