Vanderbilt opens spring season in Coral Gables

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt women’s tennis program is swinging into the spring season on the road, as it competes in the Miami Spring Invitational Friday through Sunday.

About the Commodores: Vanderbilt opens its spring season with senior Célia-Belle Mohr at No. 12 in the preseason Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, sophomore Bridget Stammel at No. 67 and senior Anessa Lee standing No. 103. The doubles team of Mohr and Anessa Lee, alongside Holly Staff and Valeria Ray, come in at No. 17 and No. 59, respectively.

Last Time Out: The Dores last competed at the Auburn Invitational Nov. 3-5. In two consecutive days, the women’s team won all seven matches it played, and ended its final fall tournament with a combined record of 19-2 in singles and doubles.

Up Next: The Commodores are on the road again, traveling to the state of Texas where they will take on SMU on Jan. 21.
