2005 Cross Country: Team[apos]s top runner through first four meets until leg injuries sidelined campaign… Led team to victory at Commodore Classic by earning individual honors with 18:13.01 5K, No. 3 all-time by Vanderbilt runner on course… Finished fourth overall at Belmont Invite (14:30 4K)… At Notre Dame, finished 22nd overall, running cross country 5K PR of 17:34… Posted second PR in last race, running 21:41 for 6K at Pre-Nationals.
2005 Track: Did not compete in track seasons due to injury. Ran unattached at the Vanderbilt Invitational winning the 5000m in 17:23.84.
2004 Cross Country: In training, but has not competed this season.
2003 Cross Country: Team leader who used strong finishes at the SEC Championships and NCAA Regional Championships to cap one of the finest seasons ever by a Commodore cross country runner… Helped Commodores to three meet titles and strong finishes at several prestigious national meets… Battled with freshman teammate Ashleigh Wetzel for top honors for much of the season… Was Vanderbilt[apos]s top performer in last three meets (Chile Pepper Invitational, SEC and NCAA Regionals)… Earned All-SEC status with 10th overall performance (22:42) at SEC Championships, the second best effort ever by VU participant in meet… Followed SEC performance with 13th overall effort (21:24) at NCAA Regionals… NCAA performance was fifth best all-time by a Commodore at meet… Showed fitness prior to conference meet with 19th overall finish and 6K personal best of 21:38 at Chile Pepper Invitational… Started season with a sixth overall performance at Belmont Invitational and fifth overall effort at Commodore Classic, both contributing to Vanderbilt team victories… Also ran strong in Commodore victory at Bulldog Invitational (11th overall in 18:56)… Took nearly 30 seconds off her 2002 performance at Notre Dame Invitational with 18:00 effort (22nd overall).
2003 Track: Achieved three of the Commodore all-time Top Ten distance marks in a season slowed by injury… Was on pace for one of best distance campaigns ever by Commodore until injury early in outdoor season… Posted the sixth fastest 5000 ever by VU athlete (17:25.89) at Raleigh Invitational… Also competed twice outdoors at 1500 meters… Was superb indoors… Her 17:05.66 effort at SEC Indoor Championships, good for ninth place overall, is third all-time among VU runners… She ranks fifth all-time indoors at 3000 meters with a 10:03.63 effort that captured event at USA Track & Field meet at Southern Illinois University… Had pair of early-season victories, winning the 3000 at MTSU Invitational (10:25) and 5000 at Kentucky Invitational (17:24)…
2002 Cross Country: Earned All-South Regional recognition with ninth overall finish in NCAA Regionals, …Was Commodores[apos] top runner five of seven meets…Finished 16th overall in SEC Championships with 6K of 22:18…Set personal best in the 6K (21:47) at Chile Pepper Invitational just before SEC meet…PR at 5K distance (18:16) came at Notre Dame Invitational…Finished third overall in Commodore Invitational with 18:47 effort, eighth best time ever on Vanderbilt home course at Vaughn[apos]s Creek course.
In High School: Captain of state champion cross country team…Three-time All-State, All-Region and All-District selection in track and cross country…Three-time MVP of track squad, twice MVP of cross country…Earned eight varsity letters…Captured nine individual state titles – three at 3200 meters, two at 1,600 meters and 3200-meter relay, and one in cross country and indoor mile…Holds North Carolina state record in indoor mile and 3200 meters…Personal bests of 1600 (5:05) and 3200 (10:55)…Two-time Western North Carolina Student Athlete of the Year… Valedictorian of senior class…Secretary of National Honor Society chapter…Winner of Harvard Book Prize.
