Precious Birdsong joined Vanderbilt Athletics in 2021 as assistant director of facilities and events management, and has since moved into the position of assistant director of development with a focus on leadership annual giving.

Birdsong previously served as an assistant director of facilities and game operations at Arkansas-Little Rock, where she oversaw game day operations for all 15 varsity sports teams.

Birdsong is an active member of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, where she interned in 2019-20. She is also a member of Women Leaders in College Sports, National Association of Athletics Development Directors and Minority Opportunities Athletic Association, for whom she served on the external relations committee and is a 2021 graduate of the Rising Stars Program.

A 2018 graduate of Middle Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree in leisure, sport, and tourism studies, Birdsong earned numerous accolades in the classroom and on the softball field including a NCAA Woman of the Year nomination. She was named one of 30 candidates for the Senior CLASS Award and was an NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete.

In addition, Birdsong was the first player in Middle Tennessee history to be drafted to a professional softball league and holds several school records. Birdsong also earned her master’s degree from Middle Tennessee in sports management in 2019, where she served as a facilities and operations graduate assistant.

A Chattanooga, Tennessee, native, Birdsong is the founder and executive director of the Precious Birdsong Family Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Chattanooga. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Higher Education Leadership and Policy from Vanderbilt.
