2017-18 (Junior):
Set three personal best times at the 2017 Phill Hansel Invitational; 200 Y back with a time of 2:04.62, 100 Y back with a time of 58.05 and 50 Y free with a time of 25.12… Beckwith’s PR in the 200 Y back landed her third place in the “D” final at the Invitational.
2016-17 (Sophomore):
Swam in five meets last season…. Season-best time in the 200-yard backstroke (2:06.39), 200-yard freestyle (1:57.39), and 500-yard freestyle (5:14.87) all came at the Phill Hansel Invitational down in Houston… Finished sixth in the 200-yard backstroke (2:12.10) and 1000-yard freestyle (10:52.73) against Alabama and West Florida.
2015-16 (Freshman):
Season best times in the 200 freestyle (1:57.23) and 500 freestyle (5:12.21) came in prelims at the the SEC Championships… One of four freshman to race at the SECs… Totaled three podium finishes… Finished 3rd in the 200 backstroke (2:15.19) and 1000 freestyle (11:10.46) against Campbell and NC A&T… Earned a finals swim at the UGA Fall Invitational in the 200 backstroke and finished with a season best time of 2:05.10… Came in sixth in the 1000 freestyle with a season best time of 10:49.66 in the quad meet against Arkansas, Houston and Clemson.
Signing Day Release:
“We’re very excited to have Mary (Beckwith) join the team next year,” said head coach Jeremy Organ. “She’s really going to help out our backstroke group. She was somebody who we thought really fit in with the vision we have and how we’re going to get better, we’re looking forward to her being a part of that process”
Ranked No. 25 in the state of Georgia, Beckwith swam for Walton High School as a four-time finalist at the Georgia High School 6-A State Swimming Championships. In her junior season with the Raiders, Beckwith won the 200 free consolation and finished 12th the 100-yard backstroke. On the Club level, Beckwith competes with Stingray swimming.
“We recruited Mary (Bechwith) specifically to help out our backstroke department, but Mary is a very smart kid,” said assistant coach Angie Nicolletta. Walton High School is a very academically strong high school in the state of Georgia. The team really loved her when she came for her visit, so we’re looking forward to her coming to Vandy next year.”
