#12 Regan Flaherty Season 2009-10

Coach Corbin Quote: Regan came off the bench for us as a freshman and performed well in several games. We used him on the corners in the outfield as well as first base. He has made strides physically over the fall and will continue to improve his chances of getting on the field this year.

2010: Played in 16 games, started in four as a true freshman… Hit .292 with eight RBI and five doubles on the year… Went 1-for-2 with a double and run scored against Wofford (3/31)… Was 2-for-2 with two RBI, a double and run scored against Wright State (3/24)… Was 3-for-5 with six RBI, three doubles and two runs scored in two games against Niagara (2/20-2/21)… Recorded first collegiate hit with RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning vs. Niagara (2/20).

High School: Led high school to three state baseball championships … Team finished undefeated during junior and senior seasons, including 50 straight wins … Named all-state and all-conference in 2007, 2008 and 2009 … Three-year selection to the All-Defensive team … 28th round pick by the Seattle Mariners in the 2009 MLB draft … Selected as the Forecaster[apos]s Athlete of the Year … Earned all-conference honors in football at quarterback during junior year … Helped lead Nova Seafood to two American Legion state championships … Member of National Honor Society.

Personal: Regan Joseph Flaherty … Born 10/15/90 … Son of Edward and Deborah Flaherty … Has one brother (Ryan) and one sister (Regina). Older brother Ryan was an All-American infielder for Vanderbilt (2005-08) and was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the first-round pick (No. 41) in 2008 … Dad is in the ABCA Hall of Fame … Undecided major … Favorites include Evan Longoria, Boondock Saints, Denzel Washington, chicken parm and OAR (music group) … Chose Vanderbilt because of the combination of excellent academics, great coaching and playing in the SEC.
