NASHVILLE, Tenn. — RJ Schreck was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America First Team, the organization announced Wednesday.
The CSC Academic All-America team recognizes student-athletes that excel both on the field and in the classroom.
Schreck earned a 4.0 GPA in his first year at Vanderbilt in the human development studies program. Schreck graduated from Duke in 2022 with a degree in computer science where he earned a 3.76 GPA.
Along with his dedication to academics, Schreck led the Vanderbilt offense in nearly every category this season. The Los Angeles native hit .306 with 14 home runs, 15 doubles, two triples and 59 RBIs.
Schreck is the 16th first-team recipient of the honor in Vanderbilt history. He is third first-teamer from the baseball program and the seventh baseball Academic All-American all-time. Schreck is the first honoree from the baseball program since 1999.
