Vanderbilt travels to Knoxville to compete in ITA Kickoff

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The No. 25 Vanderbilt women’s tennis team continues the spring season on the road as it enters ITA Kickoff Weekend, traveling to Knoxville, Tennessee, on Friday to take on No. 17 Tennessee.

Vanderbilt will either face No. 21 University of Miami or No. 18 University of Southern California on Saturday, depending on Friday’s results.

The Dores’ last competed on Sunday, falling to Southern Methodist University in their first dual match of the spring season. It was a nail-biting match, and Vanderbilt fought hard but ultimately came up short after losing the doubles point, posting an overall 4-3 loss.

Tennessee has posted a perfect 4-0 record for the season so far, having defeated Furman, Chattanooga, Wake Forest and Bellarmine. Miami (1-0) will be looking for their second win of the season after a 7-0 sweep over Florida International University this past week to begin their season. Southern California holds a 2-0 record thus far for their spring season, after competing against University of California Irvine and Loyola Marymount on Thursday.
