LEXINGTON, Ky. – Junior Ryan Preston led the Vanderbilt campaign at the ITA Regional tournament over the weekend, advancing the to the Quarterfinals of the singles contest.
Before falling to Mississippi State’s Ivan Bjelica in the quarters, Preston defeated cross-town rival 6-foot-9-inch Marco Born of MTSU (6-3, 6-4) in the Round of 32.
Preston also led the Commodores in the doubles contest, pairing for the second time this fall season with junior Evan Dufaux. The tandem advanced to the Round of 16 before falling to Mississippi State’s Bjelica/Frayssinoux 8-5.
The Commodores will play their final contest of the fall at the Nashville Challenger at the Currey Tennis Center next weekend.
