– Vanderbilt started forward Christina Wirth, and guards Jessica Mooney, Meredith Marsh, Hannah Tuomi and Jennifer Risper
– Risper, Wirth, Tuomi and Marsh have started in all 11 games this season. Mooney made her first start of the season and sixth of her career. Wirth leads the team with 94 career starts while Risper has started in 62.
First Half Notes:
– The Commodores won the opening tip
– Vanderbilt scored the games first five points
– Trailing 8-7 with 16:55 remaining in the first half, Vanderbilt went on a 12-0 run over the next four minutes to take a 19-8 advantage with 12:50 remaining. Meredith Marsh scored eight of Vanderbilt’s 12 points during the run, including two three-pointers.
– Vanderbilt’s defense forced Tennessee State to eight turnovers in the games first nine minutes
– Leading 33-20 with 6:48 remaining in the half, Vanderbilt went on 18-4 run to close out the half to take a 51-24 lead at intermission

– Vanderbilt dominated the glass in the first half outrebounding Tennessee State 26-11. Tuomi and Risper led the Commodores with eight rebounds a piece.

Second Half Notes:
– Leading 57-31 at the 16:30 mark in the second half, Vanderbilt went on a 12-3 run to expand its lead to 35 points (69-34) with 14:38 remaining in the game
Postgame Notes:
– With the win, Vanderbilt improves to 9-2 while Tennessee State falls to 4-8.
– With the win over Tennessee State, the Commodores improve to 6-0 at Memorial Gymnasium this season. The Commodores are now 4-0 this season when playing on Friday’s.
– Hannah Tuomi set career highs in points (23) and made field goals (10). Tuomi also added 10 rebounds in the effort. It marks the second time this season that Tuomi has pulled down at least 10 boards
– Vanderbilt scored a season high 98 points in the win. The 98 points marks the most points the Commodores have scored in a game since they dropped 104 against Belmont on (11/23/2007)
– Christina Wirth scored 22 points on 9-13 shooting. It was Wirth’s fourth 20-plus outing of the season and 12th of her career.
– Vanderbilt now leads the all-time series with Tennessee State 13-2.
– The Commodores outrebounded Tennessee State 37-24. Vanderbilt is now 6-1 when outrebounding its opponents this season.
