NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt men’s basketball guard Tyler Tanner was voted a preseason first team All-SEC selection by the conference’s head coaches, the SEC announced Thursday.
Tanner was a first team All-SEC performer a season ago after averaging 19.5 points, 5.1 assists and 2.4 steals per game in 2025-26. He was the only player in the nation to average better than 19/5/2.
The preseason selection is the latest in a long line of recognition heading into Monday’s season opener. Tanner has been a consensus preseason first team All-SEC and All-America selection.
Tanner and the Commodores open the regular season Monday against Bellarmine in a 6 p.m. tipoff at Memorial Gymnasium.
