NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt Volleyball remains undefeated in the 2026 season after posting a road win against Boston College 3-0 (25-23, 25-14, 25-13) Wednesday night at Connell Recreation Center. Maya Witherspoon led the charge with four service aces, while three other Commodores earned three aces each to set a new program high 16 aces.
Samantha Wunsch finished with 13 kills and a .417 hitting percentage. Witherspoon and Reese Animashaun notched seven kills each while Kayla Dunlap went six for six, hitting a 1.000. Avery Scoggins earned 33 assists to push Vanderbilt to a team .329 percentage.
Defensively, Hailee Mack posted 10 digs, leading the defensive charge to limit the Eagles’ hitting percentage to .183. At the net, Rachel Ogunleye posted two block assists to contribute to both team blocks and help limit Boston College to only 24 kills.
The opening set went back and forth with ten instances of a tie score and five lead changes for Vanderbilt to pull ahead in the final moments to win 25-23. The Commodores remained steady for the final two sets to finish 25-14 and 25-13.
The Dores finished with 39 kills, 37 assists, 34 digs and the team high 16 service aces to advance to 6-0 and maintain the program’s hottest start.
Vanderbilt heads to New York to play against #18 North Carolina in the Hammerstein Ballroom on Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. CT.
