Game Notes
  • The Vanderbilt lacrosse team kicks off American Athletic Conference play with two games at Cincinnati at Nippert Stadium. The games are scheduled for Friday and Sunday and will be live streamed on ESPN+.
  • The Commodores are riding a three-game winning streak, most recently earning a 20-13 win over Kennesaw State on March 10.
  • Vanderbilt is 6-2 in the all-time series versus Cincinnati. The Dores are 2-2 in road games in the series.
  • The two sides did not meet last year. In the last meeting, Vanderbilt fell by an 18-15 score April 20, 2019, in Cincinnati.
  • Vanderbilt’s 20-goal output against Kennesaw State was the highest for the Dores this season. Under third-year head coach Beth Hewitt the Commodores have scored 20 or more goals in a game four times.
  • Senior attacker Gabby Fornia leads the nation with 22 assists on the season. So far in 2021, Fornia broke the program’s career assists record and tied the single game assists record with seven against High Point.
  • Two wins at Cincinnati would give the Commodores their first five-game winning streak since opening the 2019 season with five-consecutive wins.
  • Vanderbilt’s only two losses this season are at No. 1 North Carolina and No. 2 Notre Dame. The games at Cincinnati are Vanderbilt’s first two road games this season versus a team not ranked in the top two in the nation.
  • Following the two-game series at Cincinnati, the Commodores will head to Greenville, North Carolina, to take on East Carolina for games March 26 and March 28.
