NASHVILLE, Tenn. — It’s a quick turnaround for the Vanderbilt women’s golf team as it prepares to compete in the Gamecock Intercollegiate this week.

The three-day event is scheduled to begin Monday in Blythewood, South Carolina. Vandy is fresh off competition at the Lady Gators Invitational on Tuesday.

“Really excited to get back out there and super-pumped for this lineup,” Vanderbilt head coach Greg Allen said. “It’s a quick turnaround from Gainesville but we were able to get some good work in.

“The field is stacked with top-ranked teams and my expectation for our girls will be to play hard and play with confidence.”

Vanderbilt finished 11th at the Lady Gators Invitational. That result was a bit misleading given that the Commodores had little to no practice time the week before due to winter storms in Middle Tennessee during the days leading up that tournament.

The Dores should be more prepared for the Gamecock Intercollegiate, a tournament which features 18 teams at the 6,398-yard Columbia Country Club which plays at a par 72.

Celina Sattelkau, who has two top-10 finishes in as many tournaments this calendar year, will once again lead Vanderbilt into the field. She’ll be joined by Auston Kim, Morgan Baxendale, Louise Yu and Virginie Ding.

Freshman Ariel Yu will compete as an individual.

We are continuing to grow as a team and this challenge will help us learn a little more about the team we want to be,” Allen said.

Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Duke, Florida, Furman, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Wake Forest will join Vanderbilt and host South Carolina in the tournament.

Vanderbilt is scheduled to tee off at 8:45 a.m. CT Monday. Live scoring can be found HERE.
