NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Each week This Week on West End takes a closer look at what’s in store for the Commodores in the coming days.
While the second week of November may seem light on the calendar, there is plenty going on involving the Commodores.
The Vanderbilt soccer team begins its postseason run starting Sunday in the second round of the SEC Tournament in Orange Beach, Alabama. Vandy went 4-4 in all-SEC schedule over the past two months and finished 3-1 down the stretch.
This week in Augusta, Georgia, Vanderbilt will be represented by fifth-year senior John Augenstein who will be competing at the Masters Tournament. Augenstein will be one of six amateurs part of the field at golf’s biggest annual event.
Here’s more of all the other happenings around West End this week:
Soccer
After a taxing, eight-game schedule against SEC competition, the Vanderbilt soccer team must wait a little while longer to learn its postseason matchup Sunday in Orange Beach, Florida.
The Commodores (4-4, 4-4 SEC) will be the No. 6, 7 or 8 seed depending on the result of Monday’s final regular-season matchup between Auburn and Texas A&M. A 2-1 loss to Ole Miss on Saturday ended Vandy’s chances of an automatic trip to the semifinals.
