Here’s the latest buzz on the web surrounding the Vanderbilt Commodores:
VUCommodores.com: Vanderbilt football inked its highest-rated signing class since 2013 in Wednesday’s early signing period, with 17 new Commodores joining the program. Head coach Derek Mason said the Dores’ latest class upgraded his roster from top to bottom.
SEC Network: Mason joined the Paul Finebaum Show to recap Vanderbilt National Signing Day.
SEC Country: Former Vanderbilt quarterback Johnny McCrary started a GoFundMe page to raise the $650 required to participate in the HBCU Spirit of America Bowl, which is a chance to appear in front of pro scouts. McCrary made the $650 his goal, and Vanderbilt fans answered the call in a huge way. By Sunday afternoon, $1,930 was raised.
Tennessee Titans: Former Vanderbilt baseball star Tony Kemp will be honored as the 12th Titan during the Titans vs. Rams on Sunday in Nashville.

VUCommodores.com: Assistant bowling coach and former Commodore All-American Josie Barnes reflects on her experience participating with Team USA at the World Bowling Championships last month. Barnes helped earn a bronze medal as part of a double team with Shannon O’Keefe.
USA Today: Several football recruits in Tennessee were asked to share in their own words why they chose the school they signed with during the early football signing period. Brentwood Academy’s Camron Johnson, a four-star wide receiver who signed with Vanderbilt, said education was important. “There are very few other schools that you can get such a top notch education while playing some of the highest level football,” Johnson writes.
VUCommodores.com: Vanderbilt basketball hosts Alcorn State on Friday, the latest historically black college to appear on a Commodore schedule. Honoring the history of HBCUs is important to Vanderbilt AD David Williams.
