Rounding up the latest buzz surrounding the Vanderbilt Commodores:

Atlanta Braves: Vanderbilt pitcher Kyle Wright officially signed with the Atlanta Braves as the No. 5 overall pick in the MLB Draft. Wright, an All-SEC and All-America selection during his career with the Dores, reportedly inked a $7 million signing bonus. Read here.

VUCommodores.com: Vanderbilt golf alum and PGA Tour pro Brandt Snedeker and his wife, Mandy, announced the establishment of the Snedeker Golf Scholarship for the men’s golf program. The scholarship moves men’s golf closer to becoming Vanderbilt’s only fully endowed program. Read here.

SEC Network: Former Vanderbilt quarterback (and current SEC Network analyst) Jordan Rodgers sat down with Commodores’ junior signal-caller Kyle Shurmur for a quick film study. Rodgers and Shurmur recap some of Shurmur’s highlights from Vanderbilt’s season-ending win over Tennessee in 2016. Watch here.

ABCA: Last week, Vanderbilt baseball’s Jeren Kendall landed with the Los Angeles Dodgers with the 23rd overall pick in the MLB Draft. This week, Kendall earned a Gold Glove Award from American Baseball Coaches/Rawlings, becoming the first Commodore since Vince Conde in 2014 to earn the exclusive award. Read here.

Twitter: Vanderbilt women’s basketball head coach Stephanie White and assistant coach Kelly Komara celebrated birthdays this week, and the Commodores celebrated in appropriate fashion.

VUCommodores.com: Vanderbilt golf’s John Augenstein, Theo Humphrey and Matthias Schwab earned All-America honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America. The trio joins Patrick Martin, who earned first team honors earlier this year. Vanderbilt golf is the only program in the country to have four players earn All-America honors this season. Read here.

Camas-Washougal Post-Record: Camas, Wash. native and Vanderbilt freshman pole vaulter Caleigh Lofstead was featured by her hometown newspaper this week. Says Lofstead of her Vanderbilt tenure: “It’s a whole different level of competition from high school. I want to use this as motivation to work harder, not get down on myself when I don’t place as high as I want to.” Read here.
