Senior Matthias Schwab, junior Theo Humphrey and freshman John Augenstein were each selected as a Golf Coaches Association of America All-American in an announcement made by the organization Thursday. Schwab was named to the second team, Humphrey the third team, and Augenstein as an honorable mention selection for their exploits on the golf course this year.

The three join sophomore Patrick Martin, who was named a first-team selection earlier this month. The Commodores are the only team in the nation with four players honored with GCAA All-American accolades in 2016-17.

Schwab’s second-team selection marks his third consecutive appearance on a GCAA All-American team after being named to the third team in 2015 and a first-team honoree in 2016. Schwab averaged 70.52 strokes per round in 29 rounds and finished in the top five in three events and top 10 in five. Schwab joins Luke List (2004-2007) as the only other Commodore to be named to at least three All-American teams.

Humphrey finished the season with a 70.75 stroke average in 32 rounds of competition in 2016-17, while carding five top five finishes, six top 10’s, and finishing in the top 23 in all but one of his starts. The junior from Greenwich, Conn., also posted 10 rounds in the 60’s and finished in a tie for second at The All-American in his best finish of the season. 2016-17 marks the first time Humphrey has been selected as an All-American.

Augenstein caps his freshman season with another honor after being named as a Freshman All-American and the SEC’s Freshman of the Year earlier this season. Augenstein played in 32 rounds and averaged 71.56 strokes per round while carding five top 10 finishes in his inaugural season with the Commodores.
