The Southeastern Conference released a statement from Dr. Bernie Machen, Chair, SEC Presidents and Chancellors, regarding Texas A&M Wednesday morning.

Junior guard John Jenkins learned valuable lessons in leadership from his experience on the 2011 USA Men’s World University Games Team.
Cross Country junior Jordan White was named SEC Runner of the Week for her performance at the Belmont-VU Opener last Friday. “She’s quietly leading our team,” Head Coach Steve Keith said. “She’s got her head set on having a better season than last year, and this was a nice start for her.”
New York Giants linebacker Jonathan Goff suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee Monday and will miss the entire 2011 NFL season. Before the injury, Goff was one of six Commodores to make an NFL team’s 53-man roster (Tampa Bay’s Myron Lewis and Chicago Bears’ Jay Cutler, D.J. Moore, Chris Williams, and Earl Bennett).
Brandt Snedeker finished tied for third place (13-under, 271) at the Deutsche Bank Championship. “My confidence is very high,” Snedeker said. “I had a bad couple weeks before last week and really put a lot of time in on the range and practiced with my coach (Todd Anderson) a lot, and the last two weeks have been fantastic, really striking the ball nicely, rolling it pretty good. I’m looking forward to the next two tournaments.”
