– Vanderbilt set a season first-half high for three pointers made, going 8-12. Meredith Marsh was 4-4 from behind the arc in the first half while Christina Wirth was 3-5.
– Vanderbilt outscored Alabama in the paint 24-2 in the first half
– VU outrebounded Alabama 18-11 in the half
– Vanderbilt scored 22 points off Alabama’s turnover in the first half
– Vanderbilt led 48-23 at half-time. The 48-points is the most points VU has scored in the opening stanza against an SEC team this season. Marsh led the `Dores with 12 points while Wirth chipped in 11.
– The Commodores registered 15 first-half assists while Alabama had two. Jence Rhoads dished out six assists in twelve minutes of action, while Lauren Lueders had four assists.

– With the win Vanderbilt improves to 17-5 overall and 6-1 in the SEC. Alabama falls to 12-10 overall and 0-7 in the SEC
– Vanderbilt now leads the all-time series with Alabama 25-11, including eight straight and 12 of its last 13 against the Crimson Tide. After Sunday’s win Vanderbilt is now 15-0 against Alabama in games played in Nashville, Tenn.
– The 88 points for Vanderbilt is the most points the Commodores have scored against an SEC opponent this season (85 at Alabama, 1/8/09)

Individual Notes
– Marsh scored 17 points on 6-8 shooting, including a perfect 5-of-5 from downtown. The Louisville, Ky., native has now made 10 of her last 11 three point attempts. Marsh made 5-of-6 three point attempts against Arkansas on Thursday night. Marsh has now scored at least 15-points in five games this year. The junior has scored 38 points in her last two combined SEC games, marking the highest point-total in consecutive conference games in her career.
– Wirth scored a game-high 21 points. It marks the fifth time this season that Wirth has notched at least 20 points. Wirth has now scored at least 20 points in 13 career games.
