NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Adam Baker and Bryant Salcedo signed letters of intent to play for the Vanderbilt men’s tennis team beginning in the Fall of 2007.
Salcedo is currently ranked 32nd in the national Boys’ Class of 2007 and has won national opens in Lexington, Kentucky and Wayland, Massachusetts. Salecdo currently attends Rashid Hassan Elite Academy in Boardman, Ohio.
Baker is a local tennis star at Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, Tenn. Over the summer, Baker finished runner-up at the Southern Bullfrog tournament in Louisiana.
“Baker isn’t ranked as high as Salcedo, but he was a starting forward basketball player and played baseball as well,” Vanderbilt Head Coach Ian Duvenhage said.
“He has the athleticism and I know once we get our hands on him out on the court he is just going to explode. Salcedo is a proven national talent, and I am absolutely thrilled to have both of them.”
