NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Former Vanderbilt star Luke List will play on golf’s largest stage this weekend when he tees off at the Masters Tournament.
List is scheduled to begin his run at Augusta National Golf Club at 8:39 a.m. CT Thursday alongside Matthew Wolff and Mackenzie Hughes. That trio is scheduled to begin its second round at 11:35 a.m. Friday.
Thursday will mark the first Masters start as a professional for the 37-year-old List.
Now an Augusta, Georgia, resident, List won the Farmers Insurance Open in January for his first PGA TOUR victory after 206 events. He has also won twice on the Korn Ferry Tour.
List (BA’07) is a member of the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame after an impressive career as a Commodore. He was a freshman All-American, named All-SEC four times and was thrice honored as an All-American.
In 2005, List played in the Masters Tournament as an amateur and tied for 33rd overall.
Dores on Tour
List competed in the Valero Texas Open over the weekend where he finished tied for 53rd with a 2-under-par.
Matthias Schwab also played in that event and earned a top-10 finish by going 9-under-par. Fellow Commodore Brandt Snedeker was the tournament’s co-leader after three rounds before he fell into a tie for 18th at 7-under-par.
On the Korn Ferry Tour, John Augenstein, Will Gordon and Theo Humphrey are off until the Veritex Bank Championship on April 13-16. Humphrey was the only player of that trio to make the cut at the recent Club Car Championship at The Landings Club where he finished in a tie for 58th.
Regular-Season Finale on Tap
Vanderbilt will wrap up the regular season Monday and Tuesday in West Point, Mississippi, at the Mossy Oak Collegiate Championship. The Commodores will then turn their attention to the SEC Championships beginning April 20 on Saint Simons Island, Georgia.
Vandy, currently ranked third nationally by Golfstat, is coming off its third team tournament title this season. Only Washington (5), Arkansas (4) and Georgia Tech (4) have won more.
Sophomore Cole Sherwood now ranks sixth nationally and has a 69.9 adjusted scoring average. Freshman Gordon Sargent is the next top Dore coming in at 18th nationally, according to Golfstat.
